Myra J. McEwen,78, of Tyrone died Monday, September 23, 2019. She was born on October 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Ada Mae Thomas Steele. On February 27, 1958 she married P. Lorain Little who preceded her in death April 25, 1990 and was remarried to George E. McEwen on December 15, 1990 who preceded her in death August 5, 2005. She is survived by four daughters: Penny (Ron) Burns of Bellefonte, Melanie (Craig) Grubb of New Enterprise, Joy (Joseph) Budzinski of Flinton and Deborah (Donald) McEwen of Northampton; two step-sons: Stephen (Kay) McEwen of Raleigh, NC and Donald (Deborah) McEwen of Northampton; one step-daughter: Jean Swisher of Miramar, FL; one sister: Essie (Ray) DeSoto of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Patricia Henderson.

Myra was graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. She was the manager of Gardner's Candies candy store from which she retired after 15 years of service. Myra was also a member of the First English Lutheran Church.

Myra enjoyed reading and collecting butterflies but what she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Private inurnment will be made at the convenience of the family.
