Michael "Mike" Ronan, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at the age of 73.

He was born in Washington D.C., son of the late Dr. John and Nancy (Blakey) Ronan. Mike grew up with a strong sense of faith and family, values he carried throughout his life. A devout Catholic and active member of the Knights of Columbus, he dedicated himself to serving his parish and community. He retired from Van Zandt VA Medical Center after 33 years as a respiratory therapist.

Mike was a man of many loves, but none greater than his family. He was a devoted and loving husband to Susan (Nearhoof), his partner and best friend of 49 years, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a proud father to Rebecca and Andrea and a beloved grandfather to Riley and Caleb, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.

A true food enthusiast, whether savoring a favorite dish at home, discovering local delicacies abroad or sharing stories around the table, Mike had a knack for bringing people together through food and laughter.

He selflessly gave the gift of life through organ donation, embodying his lifelong commitment to helping others and leaving a legacy of compassion and generosity.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Tyrone. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Ave., Tyrone.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's honor to Saint Matthew's School.
