Michael J. McMurray, 50, of Tyrone died Thursday August 13, 2015 at UPMC, Altoona.

He was born September 5, 1964 in Philipsburg, a son of the late John Jr. and Marlene (Phillips) McMurray.

Surviving are 2 sisters Laurie Dunheimer and husband George of Downingtown, Renee Hoover and husband Denny of Belleville, nieces and nephews Diana, Karen and Jim, Andrew, Eric and Alyssa and Ross and special friends Sam and Sharalyn Emigh and Charlie and Sharon Danaway all of Tyrone.

He retired on disability in 2009 from the Bryce Jordan Center, Penn State as manager of food operations following 9 years service. He was previously employed as manager of the East End Six Pack, Lewistown and also at Café 210 West, State College.

He was a 1982 graduate of Bald Eagle High School.

He loved his dogs Osa and Salem. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and reading.

Memorial services will be held Saturday August 22, 2015 at 4 P.M. with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3 P.M. until the time of service.
