Michael James Daugherty, 63 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was born in Philipsburg on March 19, 1959, the son of the late James Daugherty and Adeline (Sones) Daugherty who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Shaina and Nicole Daugherty; two granddaughters: Madison Daugherty and Ava Reed; one sister Amy Sue Vogely and husband Bob; and his dog, Grizzly.

Michael formerly attended Columbia Avenue Free Methodist Church before it closed. He was a chef by trade and enjoyed cooking and was well known for making BBQ sauce. He often cooked for the Allegheny Hunting Club on Decker Hollow Road.

He also enjoyed his dog and most of all, spending time with his family and a multitude of friends that he made along the way.

A celebration of life service will be held on April 22, 2023, from 12:00 to 4:00 at the Bald Eagle Grange 2562 on Snyder Road, Tyrone PA 16686. The family asks friends and family to bring a covered dish and to contact Shaina Daugherty to RSVP by April 20, 2023..
