Mary Jane States, 63 of Altoona, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was born in Tyrone on February 21, 1959, the daughter of Ronald Allen States and Ellen (Miller) Cowell who survive. Also surviving is her son: Jeremy (Christin Renne Roub) States; four sisters: Karen Fletcher, Robin (Ardean) Latchford, Penny States, and Jo Ellen States; one granddaughter: Tegan Lynn Roub; a lifelong partner: Mike Mowery; and special friend: Lynn Mock.

Janie attended Tyrone High School. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of her dogs. She was also an avid follower of the "Mystery Train".

She was a gentle soul who loved and cared very much. She touched everyone in a unique way and wanted peace for everyone. "Everybody needs a Janie in their life"

Services for Mary Jane States will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
