Mary Jane 'Toots' Morrissey

March 19, 1944 – April 30, 2025

Mary Jane "Toots" Morrissey, 81, Tyrone, passed gracefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Jane (Friday) Kobak. On Sept. 8, 1962, she married James G. Morrissey in Tyrone, who survives. Also surviving are children: Pamela (David) Collins, Lori Mahon and James L. (Cheryl) Morrissey; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a great-grandchild; and four siblings. She was the last of her immediate family.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School and faithfully attended Tyrone Alliance Church.

She was best known as "Grandma," and she loved with all her heart! She loved God, Jesus, Pappy and her family. She loved to "give" to all. She loved to give secretly, often slipping her gifts into the pocket of the unsuspecting recipient. She loved to "feed" the flock. She just loved life.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, and at 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday, May 5, 2025, at Tyrone Alliance Church. An 11 a.m. funeral service for Mary Jane Morrissey will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Tyrone Alliance Church, the Rev. Carl Schmidt officiating. Interment will be made at Baughman Cemetery following the service.
