Mark E. Langenbacher, 73 of Tyrone, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born on January 3, 1953, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Charles Duayne and Adelaide (Gates) Langenbacher. On February 20, 1982, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone he married Ann Hagg who survives. Also surviving are two children: Wesley Langenbacher and Erin (Cody) Logan; three brothers: Lee Langenbacher of Tyrone, David (Karen) Langenbacher of Greensburg, and Paul (Julie) Langenbacher of Ithaca, NY; his mother-in-law: Martha Hagg of Tyrone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was a 1971 graduate of Tyrone Area High School, he received a wrestling scholarship to Mansfield University where he wrestled for a year before transferring to Penn State University to continue his education, graduating with a degree in Turf and Grass Management. He worked as a grounds manager for several golf courses as well as Juniata college. He later became a chef and worked for The Casino, Edgewater Acres, and Grier School. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

While in high school he lettered in wrestling, baseball, track, and football. He continued playing sports as an adult, joining softball and bowling leagues. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, bicycling, and working in his kitchen.

A 4 pm funeral service for Mark E. Langenbacher will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with David Grazier officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 pm until the time of service. Private interment will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
