Marian Elizabeth Richards, age 93, of Tyrone passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born September 5, 1922 in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Mildred P. and James Riley. On June 24, 1940 she was married to Dale A. Richards who preceded her in death on April 26, 1991. She is survived by daughters: Rosemary (Terry) Hardy of Millsboro, DE and Natalie (Thomas) Bennett of Bethlehem, PA, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marie A. Morrison.

Marian was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School Class of 1940. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making clothing and dance costumes. She was a life Long member of the Wesley United Methodist Church where she was active in the Gertrude Black Sunday School Class, Wesley Quilters, Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary, the Tyrone American Legion Auxiliary Post #281 and Jobel Court #11.

Friends of Marian Elizabeth Richards will be received Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 1 to 2 PM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. followed by the funeral service at 2 PM conducted by Reverend Norman E. Huff and Reverend David Keyworth. Private interment will follow in Bald Eagle Cemetery.
