Madeline J. Moist, 88, of Sinking Valley died Monday January 16, 2017 at her residence.

She was born September 15, 1928 in Mattawana, a daughter of Howard M. and Lorma E. (Fry)) Harshbarger. On October 15, 1955 in McVeytown she married James E. Moist. He died June 6, 2007.

Surviving are a son Donald J. and wife Sandy of Eden Hill, a daughter Deborah J. Briggs and husband Regis of Sinking Valley, five grandchildren, Matthew Briggs and wife Erica, Tanner Briggs, Jim Briggs and wife Amber, Heather Bair and Tony Moist and fiancée Heather Bloom, five great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Lily Briggs, Caitlin and Evelyn Thompson and Madeline Bair, three sisters, Florence Boozel of McVeytown, June Rhodes of Lewistown and Marcella Colyer and husband Fred on McAllistertown and a brother John Harshbarger and wife Pat of Riverdale, California. She was preceded in death by a son Dennis, two sisters Thelma and Audrey and a brother Percy.

Mrs. Moist was a member of the Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and sending and receiving cards.

Friends will be received on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 10 A.M. until the funeral service at 12 noon at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Ernie Walls officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
