Luke Donald Friday, 44 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born in Altoona, the son of Donald L. and Jacqueline L. (Varner) Friday who survive. On December 16, 2010, in State College he married Megan Charnick who survives. Also surviving is his son: Lloyd; his sister: Jess (Ben) Grazier; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Luke was a 1997 graduate of Tyrone Area High School where he played basketball, track and field, and was a proud member of the 1996 Golden Eagle's football team, the first Tyrone team to make it to the PIAA state championship. He was also a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, the Tyrone Elks, a social member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, and Sports Vue Hunting Camp.

He enjoyed woodworking, and Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers football. What he loved most was spending time with his son Lloyd, especially at the camp fishing, and taking their dog Scout there to spend time.

A 5 pm funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to his son Lloyd's college fund at Reliance Bank, or Samaritan's Promise.
