Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" James Brisbin, 76 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born in Tyrone on May 13, 1950, the son of the late Francis "Boots" and Velma Lucille (Walbridge) Brisbin. On July 23, 1988, at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Tyrone, he married Amy (Dietrick) Brisbin who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters: Christina Brisbin of Pittsburgh and Alyssa Brisbin of San Francisco, CA. He was the last of his immediate family.
Larry was a 1968 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a 1972 graduate of Williamsport College where he received a bachelor's degree in heavy equipment. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Tyrone. He retired from PPG as a Glassworker. He was also a lifetime member of the Altoona Railroaders Museum, and a member of Camp Anderson where he acted as a trail volunteer.

He was a runner and completed 7 marathons. He liked hunting and found joy in listening to music, especially Creedence Clearwater Revival and music from the 60's. He also enjoyed the companionship of his golden retriever, Buddy.

An 11 am funeral service for Lawrence "Larry" James Brisbin will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Tyrone. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. as well as on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service, at the church.
