Katherine V. Parks, age 81, of Bald Eagle died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born October 10, 1932 in Bald Eagle, the daughter of Samuel and Orpha Reese Friday. She is survived by two sons, James (Linda) Bookhamer of Baltimore, MD and Terry (Cathy) Bookhamer of Altoona and her long time companion John Franchio. Also survivng are six grandchildren - Cherrie, Kelly, Samantha and Terry Jr. Bookhamer, Nichol D'Marr and Robert James Bookhamer and ten great grandchildren. Also survivng is her brother, Fred Friday of Bald Eagle. She was preceded in death by brothers Harold and James and her sister Dorothy M. Spanelli.

Katherine was a member of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School Class of 1950 and had been employed as a seamstress at Big Yank, retiring in 1994.

Funeral service for Katherine V. Parks will be Monday April 28, 2014 at 2 PM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Monday from 1 PM until the 2 PM service.
