Judith A. Hahn, 79, Tyrone, passed away Saturday at Cedarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Tyrone.
She was born Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Milton Francis and Helen Lucille (Bender) Hahn.
Surviving are her brother, John M. Hahn; her cherished niece and nephews: Victoria (Kevin) Wolfe, Dan (Fritz) Hahn, Jeff (Kristen) Hahn, Scott (Kim) Hahn, Greg (Kristen) Hahn, Josh (Stefanie) Schmidt and James (Kathy) Schmidt Jr.; her beloved family members, Pat Hovan and Kitty Johnston; along with many dear friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Janice, (James) Schmidt; and her niece, Sharon Hahn.
Judy dedicated 30 years to teaching health and physical education at Tyrone High School, proudly supporting the hometown Golden Eagles. She was a devoted member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Tyrone, where she participated in Catholic Daughters. Through the years, she treasured her Golden Retrievers, including Mike, Casey, Murphy, Marty and adopted fur baby, Gabby.
Her spirit of service extended into the community through her volunteer work at Epworth, where she enjoyed helping in the beauty shop and assisting with bingo.
Judy relished cheering on her Penn State Nittany Lions, Altoona Curve, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. She delighted in taking her nieces and nephews to the beach and treasured every moment of laughter and love during those family vacations in Ocean City, N.J., as well as the countless joyful hours spent with friends and neighbors on her back porch.
Her heart touched all who knew her through her dedication to teaching, her faith and volunteer work, the joy she shared with her Goldens, her enthusiasm for her favorite teams and the precious memories made with her family, friends and neighbors.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, in the gathering space St. Matthew 's Catholic Church, Tyrone. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Father Michael Pleva, celebrant. Her inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton.
