Joyce B. Leamer, 86, of Tyrone died Thursday June 8, 2017 at Epworth Manor Personal Care. Tyrone.

She was born June 22, 1930 in Tyrone, a daughter of Fred and Margaret (Hildebrand) Briggs. She was married to Carl R. Leamer who preceded her in death October 31, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter Kris Ann Feller and husband Steve of Toccoa , Georgia, a son Jeffrey C. and wife Michele of Bellemeade, 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Christopher, Katie, Kelly, Stephanie and Richard, 2 great-grandchildren, Ava and Trey and a sister Janet Shildt of San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son Craig and sisters Patricia Maitland and Margaret Ayers.

Mrs. Leamer retired in 1970 from Tyrone Hospital as a private duty R.N. following 15 years service. She had previously worked at J.C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon and Poly Clinic, Harrisburg.

She was a member of Jaggard St. Methodist Church, Altoona and was a 1950 graduate of the Philipsburg School of Nursing with a Registered Nurse degree.

Joyce enjoyed her family, grandchildren, crafts and going to the beach.. She had been a volunteer for the Cub Scouts, Tyrone Mental Health Clinic and Adams Elementary School PTO, Tyrone.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 13, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Carl A. Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 P.M.
