John Updike (62) of Tyrone, passed away on Monday December 4, 2023. He was born in Altoona to the late Harry T. and Ellen L. (Hafer) Updike.

He is survived by siblings, Mae Teeters, Esther Updike (Dave), and Rose Keith (Jim); several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harry H. A. Updike; sister, Christine Jukes brother in law Marshall Teeters and Robert Jukes and a nephew Jimmy Updike

John was in the graduate class of TAHS '80. He loved hunting and fishing, was an avid Penn State, and Dallas Cowboy fan. John was a caring man, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to Feller Memorial home on December 7th, 2023 at 4pm-6pm for viewing. Followed by a funeral service officiated by Ardean Latchford. Burial will be held at a later date at Blair Memorial Park
