John D. O'Connor, 57, of Los Angeles, CA passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1965 in Tyrone, the youngest child of William A. and Esther L. (Lannen) O'Connor who preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Thomas W. (Betsy) O'Connor, Catharine A. (Jim) Hoyne, Deborah L. (Alan) Kinney, David S. (Dana Wible) O'Connor, and Mary "Fizz" L. (Rick) Lewis. Also surviving are 8 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews; 2 unces and 11 cousins.

He was a Graduate of Tyrone Area High School, Class of 1983 and was elected Senior Class President and "most likely to succeed". He received his BA in Film Production in 1987 from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. He then moved to the Los Angeles area to further his career path in the entertainment industry.

He was a member of SAG-AFTRA and served on the awards nominating committee. Over the years he was the proud owner of several shelter dogs and a few street dogs. He enjoyed many a weekend exploring and camping in the foothills surrounding Los Angeles with his canine companions. He also enjoyed vintage comic books, science fiction, anything ABBA, and reading.

A casual gathering to remember the life of John for family, friends, and former classmates to attend and share their fondest memories will be held on December 3, 2022 from 1-4 pm at the Tyrone ELKS Lodge #212, 5496 E Pleasant Valley Blvd., Tyrone, PA 16686.
