John M. Kienzle Jr., 94, of Bellwood, passed away on September 24, 2023. He was born in Altoona on July 23, 1929, the son of the late John. M Sr. and Catherine (Shell) Kienzle. On June 20, 1964 at St. Matthew Church he married Constance M. Henry, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Mary (David) Thompson and John M. (Chastity) Kienzle III; grandchildren: Aaron, Emily, and Tyler, Michael and Morgan; great granddaughter: Serena; a sister in law: Katherine Speck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by siblings: Mary Catherine, Cyril, and Christopher, and was the last of his immediate family.

John was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School class of 1947. After school he enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably during the Korean conflict. He owned Kienzle's Bakery with his brothers and father until 1969. He also worked at and retired from PPG. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellwood.

He enjoyed music, watching TV, capturing memories with photography, watching his grandchildren play sports and his dogs. He was also a little league coach.

An 11:00 am funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellwood. Friends will be received on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. from 5-8 pm. Interment will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery.
