John G. Ellis, 76, of York formerly of Tyrone died Tuesday January 9, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Memorial, York.

He was born March 9, 1941 in S. Philipsburg, a son of John and Mary (Pleskonko) Ellis. On September 3, 1966 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone he married Patricia M. Pallo.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter Sandra Stegman and husband Bruce of Red Lion, two grandchildren; Michael Pollock (Nina Argento) of Dover, Allison Pollock (Hayden Horne) of Red Lion, a great-grandson Weston Horne and a sister Judy Biddlecomb of Philipsburg.

John retired in 2002 from PPG, Tipton as a solderer following 33 ½ years service. He was a 1959 graduate of Philipsburg Osceola High School.
