John D. Daversa, age 67, of Tyrone, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1946 in Altoona, the son of David and Virginia Mauk Daversa. In 1985 he was married to Darlene Ohrtman Westley who preceded him in death October 2, 2009. He is survived by two step-daughters, Lori (Russell) Walk, Tyrone and Tran (Scott) Mattern, Duncansville, a sister Dolores Fleegle, Carson Valley, 10 step-grandchildren, 15 step great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews – Ernestine Marie Douglas, David (Penny) Nearhoof, Deborah (Tim) Bender and Nicole Jo Fleegle and 5 grand nephews and 1 grandniece.

Mr. Daversa had been employed as a forklift operator at Cookson Electronics, retiring in 2010 after 36 years service. He was a member of the Cesare Battisti Club and was an avid Harley rider and enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Blair Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc.
