Joan H. Watters, age 74, of Tyrone died Friday, December 9, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born August 3, 1942 in Altoona, the daughter of Alvin J. and Mary Edith Taylor Houck who precede her. On December 14, 1962 at the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, she was married to John R. Watters Jr who survives. Also surviving are three sons and one daughter – John R. (Michele) Watters III, Timothy S. (Debra) Watters, Mary Jo Lombardo, David R. (Becky) Watters, one daughter-in-law, Melissa Waters and thirteen grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Also surviving are four sisters and two brothers – Herb Houck, Rachel Gensimore, Mary Reeder, Caroline Steele, Ellen Aucker and Thomas Houck. She was preceded in death by a son, Darrin G. Watters.

Mrs. Watters was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in Fuoss Mills. She was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School Class of 1961. Joan enjoyed boating and especially loved cooking Sunday dinners and spending time with her family.

Funeral service for Joan H. Watters will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
