Jeanne Ann Price, 78 of Tyrone, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born in Baltimore, MD on March 20, 1946, the daughter of Ralph C. and Margaret (Patti) Moorehead. She was married to Sterl Roger Ardel Price who preceded her in 1982. She is survived by four children: Tamara (George) Kuba, David (Donna) Chathams, Sterling (Randy) Price, and Sherry (Glenn) Younkins; eight grandchildren: Angela, David W, David C, Brian, Jessie, Dustin, Erica, and Jack; five great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Ann Gastiger; a nephew: Jeremy; and a fiancé: Charles Spicer. She was preceded in death by two children: Roger and Charlie Price; and two grandchildren: Curtis and Shawn.
Jeanne was a 1964 graduate of Altoona Area High School before going to the Police Academy. Jeanne sold Home Interior for over 35 years. She was an officer with the Bellwood Police Department for over 10 years. She was a member of Northwood Baptist Chapel and was very involved with the church activities.
She was also a member of the Tyrone Area Community Organization, and a Bunco group. She enjoyed going for walks, she loved animals and devoted lots of time to wildlife rehabilitation assistance and animal rescue. More than anything she loved to spend time with her family. She was the glue that held everyone together and hosted all of the holiday get-togethers. Her house was always immaculately decorated, a memory that is cherished by everyone. She was the caretaker of her family, and sacrificed 21 years to take care of her son and her father in his last few years.
A 3 pm funeral service for Jeanne Ann Price will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Tim Young officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 1 pm until the time of service. Private interment will be made at Alto Reste Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in care of the funeral home.
