Janet L. Woomer, 79, of Tyrone died Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Epworth Manor Personal Care.

She was born November 22, 1936 in Loveville, a daughter of Elwood Jacob and Winifred Marie (Gross) Reese. She was formerly married to Richard Woomer Sr. who survives in Tyrone.

Also surviving are a son Richard Woomer Jr. and wife Peggy of Tyrone, a daughter Wendy Grot and husband Stephen of Tyrone, five grandchildren, Jessica DeCoste and husband Matthew, Jennifer and Jeffrey Lee Woomer and Winifred and Wilhelm Grot, three great-grandchildren Rhyleigh and Isabella DeCoste and Liliana Hardmann. She was preceded in death by two sons Jeffrey L. and Kevin Jon Woomer and two brothers Jacob and Larry Reese.

She was a member of the Halfmoon Valley Christian Fellowship and the Stormstown Grange since 1952. She was a 1952 graduate of St. College High School.

Mrs. Woomer retired in 2011 from Penn State as staff assistant for the Department of Electrical Engineering following 29 years service.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, old game shows and movies.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 18, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
