Janet R. Bilka, age 86, of Tyrone died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Tyrone Hospital. She was born February 27, 1929 in Birmingham, the daughter of George and Dorothy Houck Hildebrand. On January 3, 1949 in Winchester, VA she was married to Edward Bilka who preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by 3 children, Joseph Edward (Vicki) of Altoona, Judith Ann (David) of Rochester, PA and Jeffrey L. (Denise) of Pittsburgh, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters and 1 brother – George E. Hildebrand and Alice Hubert, both of Tyrone and Pat McKnoon of Glenshaw. She was preceded by a brother David Hildebrand.

Mrs. Bilka retired from Hills Department Store where she had been employed as a sales clerk.

Private funeral service and interment at a later date will be made in Logan Valley Cemetery.
