James "Jim" R. Myers Jr., 71 of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born in Altoona on December 15, 1952, the son of the late James R. Sr. and Shirley L. (Browand) Myers. On October 4, 1980, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tyrone, he married Donna (Moskel) Myers, who survives. Also surviving are two children: Amy (Philip) Boore and Jeremy (Leann) Myers; four grandchildren: Reece Myers, Kyler Boore, Tenlee Myers, and Maddox Myers; two step-grandchildren: Drew Hunter and Balin Hand; two siblings: MaryAnn (Ron) Finelli and Tom (Louise) Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a 1970 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1972 graduate of Penn State University. He served honorably in the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He worked in construction as a structural steel draftsman and bid estimator, last employed with L.S. Fiore Inc. before retiring in 2014. He was a member of Sheneeda Lodge in Bald Eagle and was also an organ donor.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, yard sales, and trips to Rocky Gap Casino. He was fond of his cats, especially Frannie. He loved to cook and make sure everyone had lots to eat and always went home with a doggie bag. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

An 11 am funeral service for James "Jim" R. Myers Jr. will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor George Morris officiating. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the funeral home from 4 - 8 pm and on Monday from 10 am until the time of service. Private interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
