James F. Houser, 82 of Tyrone, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1943, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Glenn E. and Edythe (Cherry) Houser Sr. On May 23, 1966, in Tyrone, he married Judy L. Waite, who preceded him in death on January 25, 2023. He is survived by three daughters: LeeAnn (Dave) Pannebaker, Betty Jo Houser both of Tyrone, and Lori Houser of Smithmill; three grandsons: Courtland and Colby Pannebaker, and Mason Phillips; six siblings: Shirley Beckwith, Raymond (Cookie), Patricia, Herbert, David, and Charles (Bonnie) Houser. He was preceded in death by six siblings: Richard, Glenn Jr., Constance Lahr, William, Howard, and baby John.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and attended trade school where he studied to be a plumber. He applied those skills while working for Penn State University for 23 years of service before retiring in 2005.

He enjoyed hunting, farming on the homestead, and tinkering with appliances. He loved spending time with his family, especially attending his grandson's sporting events.

A small remembrance service for James F. Houser will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 7 pm at Feller Memorial Home with Paul Politza officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5 pm until the time of the 7 pm service. Private interment will be made at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
