James Clair Dean, 78 of Tipton, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022. He was born in Philipsburg on December 31, 1943, the son of the late Clair and Margaret (Dickson) Dean. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lorraine (Novak) Dean. Also surviving are two children: Nicole and Robert Dean; two granddaughters: Gabrielle and Cassidy Troutman; two brothers: George and Terry Dean; and one sister: Mary Hall.

James was a graduate of Pine Grove Mills High School, and worked as a mechanic, retiring from Nelson's Dodge. He served honorably in both the United States Army and Navy.

He liked hunting and fishing, working on cars, building things, and working on houses. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children.

Services for James Clair Dean will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
