Jack Myers, 86, of Tyrone died Sunday December 28, 2014 at his residence.
He was born June 5, 1928 in Tyrone, a son of John T. and Violet B. (Wesner) Myers. On January 25, 1952 at the Nebo Lutheran Church, Grassflat he married Mae B. Brolin.
Surviving are his wife, 3 daughters Colleen Smith and husband Chris, Sharon Lalli and husband Terry, Gwen Singler all of Tyrone, 2 sons Kenneth and wife Lisa, Gary and wife Beth all of Tyrone, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Michelle Bridges, 3 brothers Richard, Charles and Robert and 2 sisters Vivian Rhodes and Martha Myers.
Mr. Myers retired in 1990 from Penelec as chief lineman following 40 years service.
He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Tyrone where he was very active serving on church council, usher and a member of several committees. He had provided the church Christmas tree for many years. He also was a member of the Tyrone Hookies, Tyrone Elks and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Jack was known in the area for his elaborate Christmas light display at his home every year. He was a people person and enjoyed trimming trees, helping others and visiting the sick.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 31, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Sharon Erb Officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Feller Memorial Home and on Wednesday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
