J. Ronald Andrews May 26, 1934 January 27, 2014 J. Ronald Andrews, 79, of Bellefonte, died Monday January 27, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
He was born May 26, 1934, in Port Matilda, son of John and Gladys M. (Young) Andrews. He was twice married, first to Carol Ann Etters on December 12, 1953 in Winchester, Va. She died July 12, 1986. He then married Charlotte Matthew on February 13, 1987 in Winchester, Va. She died November 10, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Tracy L. Andrews and wife, Jennifer, of Centre Hall; two grandchildren, Jackie Holt and Keith Andrews; a great-grand- daughter, Jaylen Holt; three step-daughters, Cathy L. Light and husband, Frank, of Tyrone, Charmane Woomer and husband, Dan, of Tyrone and Tina Turiano and husband, Randy, of Altoona; a step-son, Paul Etters and wife, Leilani, of Tyrone; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, John Andrews, of Tipton, Roy Andrews, of Duncansville, George Andrews, of Phoenix, Ariz. And Brett Andrews and wife, Chris, of Rutherford; and special friend, Rosie Stamm, of Philipsburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Mahrer.
Known as "Jimmy Diamond" on the CB he was a Truck Driver for Gensimore Trucking, Pleasant Gap and currently Predator Trucking, of Bellefonte for 57 years.
His passion was driving truck and he considered the people he encountered on the road to be a part of his family. He also enjoyed vacationing and traveling.
Funeral service will be held Friday January 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Reverend Norman Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Friends and family will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
