Glenna Fraiser Garman, a woman of deep faith, tireless work ethic, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded by her parents Harold Fraiser and Augusta Nowark Friazer, and her brother Robert Fraiser. She graduated from Altoona High School 1954, she married the love of her life, David Garman, in 1964 and spent their lives together until he passed February 2024.
A dedicated professional, Glenna spent 23 years at Sylvania until its closure, later bringing her energy to positions at Weis and Sheetz. Though she was a hard worker, she truly loved traveling. Alongside her daughter, granddaughters, and best friend, Carol Benton, Glenna explored the world-from the dunes of Dubai and Oman to the beaches of Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska. She had a particular fondness for the East Coast, where she spent countless hours hunting lighthouses and relaxing on the beach.
While Glenna initially preferred the "city life," she showed her true grace when she and David moved to the country. Transferring her worship and service from Juniata United Presbyterian, she became an integral part of the Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church and the local community, famously hosting annual pig roasts and vibrant parties. While David was off hunting or fishing, Glenna could be found bowling, shopping, or driving her beloved cars-usually a bit faster than the speed limit allowed.
Above all, Glenna was a woman of family. She loved to cook, host, and ensure she never missed a single moment with those she held dear. An avid animal lover, she cherished her own pets and every dog or cat she encountered.
Glenna is survived by her daughter, Deborah Fraiser-Garman; her granddaughter, Heather Redling and husband Robert and great-granddaughter, Ava; her granddaughter Holly Nantais and husband Dr. Joel Nantais. She is also survived by her nephew, John Fraiser, his wife Drema, and their son Benton, as well as her cousin, Beck Reed.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 5 at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home in Tyrone, PA. Visitation from noon until 2 pm followed by service officiated by Pastor Nathan M. Koozer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenna's name to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, honoring her lifelong love for animals.
