Garrett William Paul Desch, 38 of Tyrone, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was born at the Altoona Hospital on April 29, 1984, the son of Daren and Jackie (Winters) Desch who survive. Also surviving is a brother Eric (Ashley) Desch; four children: Gracelynne Paige, Raemy Annabella, Jakoby David, and Lennon Joshua; maternal grandmother: Susy Winters; paternal grandparents: Paul and Gayle Desch; and nieces and nephew: Allie, Elliott, and Avery. He was preceded by his maternal grandfather: Sam Winters.

Garrett was a 2002 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Garrett participated in wrestling, baseball, track, and football. He was a member of the 1999 PIAA AA State Champion Golden Eagle football team and was inducted into the Tyrone Monogram Club, and the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame with the team.

He enjoyed going to concerts, playing pool, and watching sports; especially the Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, Georgia Bulldogs football, and Penn State wrestling. He also liked playing video games online.

A 6:00 pm funeral service for Garrett William Paul Desch will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. Friends will be received on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the 6:00 pm service. Private interment will be made at the Birmingham Presbyterian Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
