Eugene Arthur Zimmerman 85, of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born in Morris Township, the son of the late Charles Lester and Selma Vera (Naylor) Zimmerman. He is survived by a fiance of over 20 years Betty Patton; sons: Michael, Scott, and Charles Zimmerman; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Gene was a 1957 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Immediately following graduation, he served honorably in the US Navy from 1957-1963. He retired from the Chicago Rivet & Machine Company in 1999. He attended the Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of the Tyrone Fire Police, Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Excelsior Fire Company, and AARP. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, listening to gospel music, NASCAR, and watching westerns.

A noon funeral service for Eugene Arthur Zimmerman will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc with Pastor Jason Mauk officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11 am until the time of the service. A private interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park following the services.
