Ethel L. Books 92, of Altoona and a guest at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center died Monday May 20, 2019. She was born on August 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Samuel and Iva (Campbell) Vaughn Huber. On April 7, 1957 She married Melvin Books who preceded her in death on July 8, 2005. Ethel is survived by one daughter: Sally (Jay) Keller of Tyrone; 2 step-daughters: Carole (John) Finn of Germantown, MD and Anne (Phil) Moroneso of Fort Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren: Jessica (Joe) Gumbert of McVeytown, Michael (Katey) Moroneso of Los Angeles, CA and Alicia Kelly of Maryland; and 4 great-grandchildren: Heath Keller, Hunter Kelly, and Penelope and Julian Moroneso.

Ethel enjoyed art and spent some of her spare time painting. She was also very active in helping her husband with the day to day operations at the family's funeral home.

A memorial service for Ethel L. Books will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
