Esther Grimm, age 60, of Cameron Avenue, Tyrone, died unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, April 30th. She was born May 9, 1952 at Huntingdon Furnace, the daughter of James and Ruth Noel Hammond. She was married to David C. Grimm Sr. who preceded her in death December 10, 1988. She is survived by a son, David C. and girlfriend Nichole Moser of Tyrone and a granddaughter Tori. Also surviving are 3 brothers and 1 sister – James Hammond, Pocono Lake, PA, Martha Hammond (Randy), Greenwood, William Hammond, Maryland and Thomas Hammond, Tyrone and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by two brothers and a sister - Ronald, Jonathan and Rebecca Kimberling.

Esther was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. She was a graduate of State College High School, Class of 1970 and was self-employed as a baby-sitter and a giver of child care. She liked being with the little ones and particularly liked walking with her granddaughter. She loved to bake and watching after her nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Esther Grimm will be Friday, May 3rd at 12 Noon at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Petracca as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday prior to the noon time funeral service.
