Elizabeth H. Stroup, 70, of Tyrone died Sunday May 4, 2014 at Tyrone Colonial Courtyard.

She was born March 15, 1944 in Ambridge, a daughter of Andrew and Anne (Chastko) Bish. On March 18, 1967 in Ambridge she married Jon P. Stroup. He died August 2, 2003.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Megan Wagner and husband Don of Tyrone, Rachel Stroup (Nate Homan) of Centre Hall, Maureen Bennett and husband Michael of Altoona, a son Eric and wife Tracey of Tyrone, 8 grandchildren, and a brother Bill Bish and wife Jane of Bryan, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

She was former owner of Payton's Gift Shop, Tyrone for 5 years and had assisted her husband with the Jon P. Stroup Sales Agency for a number of years.

She was a Pittsburgh Steeler and Penn State and Joe Paterno fan. She enjoyed crosswords, entertaining and spending time with family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 7, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Ralph Hamer officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from6 to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
