Elizabeth "Betty" Getz Rodgers., 96 of Tyrone, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. She was born in Tyrone on September 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry I. and Alice (Wooden) Getz. On December 20, 1948, in Cumberland, Maryland, she married William "Dickie" F. Rodgers, who passed away in 2003 after 54 years together. Also surviving are three children Cathy Rodgers of Hollidaysburg, Bill (Kathy) of Carlisle, Ann R. Brown of Yardley; grandchildren: Laura Rodgers of Carlisle, Allison R. (Sam) Simmons of Boston; great granddaughter : Adriana Piscopo of Yardley; sister-in-law: Norma Getz, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jane Getz Herzog, twin Richard "Dick" W. Getz, and grandchild Kathleen Brown.

Betty was a graduate of TAHS class of '43, after high school she pursued her education in Missouri at Stephens College. She spent her working career as a secretary for many companies through the years including Bell Telephone, Penn State University, Blatchford's Furniture in Tyrone, First Presbyterian Church where she was also a member, and she was also an announcer for local news with WTRN. Betty was a member of Tyrone Women's Club and the Questers, and in her free time she would spend it knitting with amazing detail.

A 12:00pm a memorial service for Elizabeth "Betty" Getz Rodgers will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. Friends will be received from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
