Dorothy H. (Sis) Sharer, a resident of Garvey Manor and formerly of Tyrone died Sunday December 24, 2017 at the Manor.
She was born October 14, 1916 in Tyrone a daughter of Oscar Lewis Sr. and Ruth B. (Weston) Hample. On November 25, 1936 in Cumberland, Maryland she married Robert D. Sharer Sr. He died July 14, 1990.
Surviving are five daughters Carole Jean Gill (Gerald) of Tyrone, Bonnie Lou Ashcroft (Ron) of State College, Catherine D.. Gergely (Richard) of Tyrone, Dorothy A. (Robin) Olley (Matthew) of Mifflinburg and Pamela B. Wagner of Mifflinburg, a son Robert D. Jr. (Edie B. ) of Tyrone, sixteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law Joseph E. Wagner of Danville, She was the last of her immediate family preceded in death by four brothers Leo, Eugene, Oscar (Bud) and George Hample.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America. Court St. Rita. She was a 1936 graduate of Tyrone High School.
She had been employed at Sears Robuck Catalog Store, Tyrone and was co-owner of Clover Farm Grocery Store, Northwood.
She had been active with the Tyrone Area Girl Scouts and helped design the Tyrone High School yearbook and wrote articles in the Spokesman newspaper.
Sis love children and enjoyed canning, quilting, crocheting and her dog Marcie.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday December 29, 2017 at 11 A.M. at St. Matthew Church with Fr. Jozef Kovacik Celebrant. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Thursday from
6 to 8 P.M.
