Dorothy McAllister, age 96, formerly of Tyrone, PA, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy, the youngest of nine children, was born in Vandergrift, PA on July 7, 1929 to the late George and Jeanetta Mornes. Dorothy was the beloved wife of James W. McAllister. Together they settled in Levittown, PA raising their three sons and shared.38 years of marriage before Jim's passing in 1989. She was predeceased by her eight siblings and her daughter-in-law, Deborah. Dorothy, who was extremely artistic, excelled in crocheting, needlepoint and ceramics crafting exquisite heirloom pieces. She was an avid square dancer, Bingo player and frequented the casinos of Atlantic City. Her most cherished and enjoyable moments however, were spent in the company of her family and numerous friends. Dorothy worked for the Pennsbury School System for several years prior to working for JCPenney, Inc., retiring in 1987. Dorothy is survived by her three sons; Lon, husband of the late Deborah, of Homosassa, FL, Robert and his wife Gwen of Tyrone, PA, and John and his wife Colleen of Levittown, PA., seven Grandchildren, Andrea (Eric) Cranmer, Barbara McAllister (life partner, Pauline), Celeste (Scott) Joseph, Samantha McAllister, Meghan (Samuel) Mohran, James McAllister, Heather (Kohl Campbell) McAllister, six Great-grandchildren and five Great-great-grandchildren. A 3 pm funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc with Pastor Ron Baker officiating.
