Dorothy Jean "Dot" Hoy, 82, of Tyrone died Saturday February 22, 2020 at Epworth Manor.

She was born November 29, 1937 in Tyrone a daughter of Walter and Martha J. (Troy) Brenneman. On April 7, 1955 in Port Matilda she married Gerald Hoy. He died December 10, 1990.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Aleah Rose Hoy of Tyrone, a daughter-in-law Eileen Hoy of Tyrone and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters; Marie Harris, Alice Margaret Calderwood, Mary Anna Wisneiski and a brother James Brenneman. She was the last of her immediate family.

Dot enjoyed her work at Blair Senior Services as office manager from which she retired in August of 1998. She was a 1955 graduate of Tyrone High School.

Spending time with her granddaughter was a special joy to her. Dot loved helping people in need with meals and visits throughout her life. She also was an animal lover, especially dogs. Dot was a very good cook and was noted for her delicious pie crusts.

All her life, until affected by Alzheimer's disease, Dot was very active and kept doing all the outside work well into her retirement.

There will be no viewing of services. Interment will be private at the request of the deceased at Port Matilda Cemetery.
