Doris J. Waite, 95 of Tyrone, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025. She was born in Tyrone on January 31, 1930, a daughter of the late Edward R. and Edith K. (Wertz) Neil. On May 30, 1952, at First English Lutheran Church she married Donald J. Waite who preceded her in death on June 25, 2011. Surviving is her daughter Dawn Ann Covino and husband Jeff of Altoona; two grandsons: Daniel (Hannah) and Michael (Shannon); and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a sister: Ann Margaret Updike.

Mrs. Waite was a 1948 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She retired in 1991 after owning and operating a beauty salon in her home. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Tyrone.

Doris enjoyed sewing, baking, ceramics, and reading, but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, and great-grandsons.

Services for Doris J. Waite will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to First English Lutheran Church of Tyrone, 17 W 13th St. Tyrone, PA 16686.
