Donald James "Smiley" Walk, 81, of Port Matilda died Tuesday August 2, 2016 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone where he has been a resident for the past three years.

He was born August 18, 1934 in Philipsburg, a son of William Harris and Gertrude (Jones) Walk.

Surviving are a sister Elsie Harshberger of Warriors Mark and several caring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mildred I. Nearhoof, Margaret C. Walk and Marjorie W. Weaver and two brothers Guy W. and Cecil P. Walk.

Donald was a lifetime member of Hannah United Methodist Church. In his early years Donald worked for the township road crew and was a farmhand for local farmers. Later in life Don's time was occupied with daily travel to State College for breakfast at the Corner Room and riding the CATA Bus Line.

The family is extremely grateful for the care, love and concern shown by the staff at Epworth Manor and Asera Care Hospice.

Informal graveside services will be held Saturday August 6, 2016 at 10 A.M. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Pastor Sam Reese officiating. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M.
