Darlene Joy Ritter, 76 of Tyrone, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1945, in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Robert and Hannah (Budd) Haverstein. In 2001, at the Wesley United Methodist Church she married James W. Ritter who survives. Also surviving are two children: Robert (Sandra) Carper, and Shirley (Jim) Irvin; five grandchildren: Kelly, Amanda, Brittney, Shannon, and Maresa; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother: Robert Haverstein.

Darlene was a 1963 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a graduate of South Hills Business School. She was employed at Penn State University as a Staff Assistant working mostly in the telecommunications department. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was very active in serving.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing puzzles, bowling in the leagues at West End Lanes, and most of all spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A 3:00 pm memorial service for Darlene Joy Ritter will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Feller Memorial Home, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00 pm until the 3 o'clock service.
