Curtis M. Dixon, age 92, of Tyrone died Friday, October 2, 2015 at UPMC Altoona. He was born September 17, 1923 in Tyrone, the son of Wilbur and Cora P. Straw Dixon. On September 5, 1947 in Tyrone he was married to Jean Koontz who survives. Also surviving are 3 children; James G. (Joan) of Williamsport, MD, Eileen, of Johnstown, and Clinton (Virginia), or Brunswisk, MD; a sister: Thelma Diehl, of Tyrone; a step-sister: McKeva Dixon, of Ellisvills, MS; 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 3 great-grandchildren and his cousin Phyllis Dixon of Tyrone.

Curtis was a veteran of WWII with service with the Marines in the South Pacific. He has been employed as an independent Maser Mason and, since retirement, has worked part time for Dixon Tool and Die. He was a life member of the Tyrone Sportsmen and the Bald Eagle Grange and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral Services for CUrtis M. Dixon will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Carl Schmidt officiating. The Tyrone Honor Guard will make a flag presentation during the service. Interment will be immediately following the service at Bald Eagle Cemetery in Tyrone. Friends are invited to call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service on Monday, October 5, 2015.
