Colleen Ann Sickler Mertiff, 68 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was born on November 23, 1955 in Philipsburg, the daughter of Harry K. Sickler Jr. and the late Delores (Trimble) Sickler. Along with her father, she is survived by three sons: Ryan (Kamille) Grabill, Matt, and Tyler (Kylee) Mertiff; four grandchildren: Marin Grabill, and Jordan, Cameron, and Gunner Mertiff; and four siblings: Linda (Russell) Suda, Mary Suzzanne Tomer, Deborah Sickler, and Timothy W. (Kerry) Sickler. She was preceded by a brother: Harry K. Sickler III.
Colleen was a 1973 graduate of Tyrone Area High School where she was THE head majorette. She was also a graduate of Altoona Nursing School where she studied to be an LPN. She was also a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone, the Tyrone Monogram Club, and was heavily involved in the Tyrone Football Boosters, as well as many of the local youth sports like Little League and football.
She was a die hard Notre Dame fan and an I Love Lucy and The Three Stooges fanatic. She was always making people laugh with her personality and sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved her grandchildren.
An 11 am Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Friday, April 26, 2024, with Father Michael Pleva officiating. Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Interment will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, immediately following the mass. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Ave. Tyrone, PA 16686.
