Christine P. Tennis, 96, of Tyrone died Sunday September 25, 2016 at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

She was born July 24, 1920 a daughter of Raymond and Mary (Marthouse) Cowher. In 1942 at Cumberland, Maryland she married Robert J. Tennis.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters Donna L. Sellers and husband Robert of Bellemeade, Carole J. Golden of Tyrone, a son Robert J. Jr. and wife Vickie of Tyrone, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister Agnes Miller of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by three sisters Kate Miller, Annie Miller, Mary Harris and a brother Raymond Cowher.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone.

She had been employed at Long's Dairy, Tyrone and was a housekeeper for Dr. John Ayres.

Christine enjoyed baking especially her coconut pies.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday September 28, 2016 at 12 Noon at St. Matthew Church with Fr. Clem Gardner celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M.
