Charlotte Irene Igou, 85, of Tyrone, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1939, in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Charles and Elda Elizabeth (Evans) Smith. She was preceded in death by a spouse, John "Jack" Igou Jr. on April 30, 2023. She is survived by children: Ervin Maier (Lori), David Wertz (Terra), Yolanda Igou Bolden (Mike), Cathy Igou Frankhoser, Kimberly Igou (Kris); 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings and was the last of her immediate family.

She was a United State Navy veteran, serving honorably from 1958 to 1961

Charlotte enjoyed gardening, plants, her cats, and loved her grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no public services. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602
