Charles E. Shultz, age 80, of Tyrone died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1934 in Tyrone, the son of Charles R. and Jessie L. Myers Shultz. On July 9, 1954 at the First Lutheran Church, Altoona, he was married by Reverend McVicker to Evagene L. Westley who survives. Also surviving are a grandson, Robert C. Rimer who was raised in the family home and six children – Adair (Dale) Spicer, Debra (Tyke) Lewis and Charles (Robin) Shultz, all of Tyrone, Darrel (Brenda) Shultz, Tipton, Susan (Jeff) Barto, Warriors Mark and Lisa (Ed) Carper, Tyrone, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers and a sister – Donnie (Jane) Shultz and Susie (Joe) Scordo, all of Tyrone and Boyd Shultz, Johnstown. Mr. Shultz was preceded in death by a daughter Lori G. Shultz, his parents and brothers Kenneth and William Miller.
Mr. Shultz had been employed by Westvaco for 23 years and retired from Mead/ACCO Blair Plant in Alexandria, PA where he had been employed as a machine runner. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
Funeral service for Charles E. Shultz will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11 AM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Pastors Peggy Bonsell and Lynn Schaffer officiating. Private interment will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM
