Obituary

Chandler G. "Punk" Coady, 89, of Tyrone died Saturday April 25, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born March 16, 1926 in Bellwood, a son of William and Mildred (Longenecker) Coady. On May 28, 1946 in Cumberland, Maryland he married Adeline I. Dixon.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter Sandra C. Kullmann and husband Charles of Charlotte, North Carolina, 2 grandchildren, Rebecca G. Kullmann of Charlotte, North Carolina, Heidi N. Sherwood of Indian Trail, North Carolina, 3 great-grandchildren Brandon, Miranda and Kyle Sherwood and 4 siblings Betty Langor, Mardell Coady and Lemoyne and Merle Coady.

Mr. Coady retired in 1988 from Chicago Rivet, Tyrone as foreman of the machine shop following 35 years service.

He was a U.S. veteran of WWII and was recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Germany in 1945 and also received the European, African, Middle Eastern Theatre Medal.

The family thanks all their good neighbors for their kindness through the years.

A private family only viewing will be held and he will be interred Tuesday at Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone.
