Catherine Velma (Murray) Lykens, 91 of Altoona, died July 22, 2019 at her home. She was born December 11, 1927 in Sandy Ridge, the daughter of James and Edith Green Murray. On November 14, 1945 in West Decauter, she married Victor "Brownie" Lykens who preceded her in death on May 15, 1992. She is survived by 5 children; Victor R of Altoona, Deborah Ann of Puerto Rico, Daniel Leroy of Williamsburg and Sharon and Susan Lykens of Altoona; Eleven grandchildren: Vicki K, David Alan, Jamie Lee, Shon, Jason, Sandy Jo, Valerie Lynn, Mike, Michelle, Christine and Waylen; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children: Sandra Lee and Ronald Dean; three grandchildren; Robert Leroy, Joe Rickabaugh Jr. and Catherine Christine; and eight siblings: Leroy, Mary, Margaret, Mable, Hazel, Anna Bell, James and Daniel. She was the last of her immediate family.

Catherine was employed as a housekeeper with several area banks as well as the Altoona hospital. She was a good lady and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.

A noon funeral service will be held at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 with Reverend Carl Schmidt officiating. Friends will be received from 11 am until the noon service.
