Byron Hawthorne, age 72, of Tyrone died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 . He was born October 29, 1943 in Phoenixville, PA, the son of James and Stella Youndt Hawthorne. In December 1970 he was married to Mary Wolfe who survives. Also surviving are four children – Cathy (Jeff), Fort Bragg, CA; Jim p(Kathy) Hawthorne, Huntingdon, Dan (Ivy) Hawthorne, Tyrone and Becky (Sam) Wiser, Shippensburg, PA.; and five grandchildren – Chase, Shayna, Blake, Addie and Lucy.

Mr. Hawthorne was a retired dairy farmer. His prize herd of dairy cattle will survive him. He was a veteran of service in the US Army. He served on the board of PANTA, PA No-Till Alliance and part time with the National Resources Conservation Service.

There will be a gathering of friends at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Ivan Lapp in charge. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
