Byron C. Faust, age 96, a guest at Graystone Manor and a former Tyrone resident, died Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Manor. He was born in Tyrone on April 22, 1918, the son of Harry F. and Margaret Penina Wolf Faust. On August 22, 1949 at Arch Spring he was married by Reverend David Schaeffer to Jane Louise Mattern who survives. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Wanetta Henderson, Sylvia Thompson and Patsy Mattern and numerous nieces and nephews, special neighbors Jon Berry and Ashley Meredith and his "Heart Family" at Bellemeade Graystone Manor. He was preceded in death by a brother Raymond, sister Anna Marie Little, infant sisters Helen and Ellen and nephew David L. Little.

Byron was a member of the Northwood Baptist Chapel and had held various positions in his church. He was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1937 and had been employed as an auto bodyman at Shope's Garage, Tyrone, retiring in the 1980's. He had been a member of the Neptune and Citizens Fire Companies and the Tyrone Fire Police. He had enjoyed woodworking, ceramics and paint by numbers.

Funeral service for Byron C. Faust will be Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1 PM at the Northwood Baptist Chapel with Pastor Tim Young officiating. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Thursday from2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the 1 PM service. Interment will be in Gray's Cemetery.
